Jeffrey Schlupp's late stunner left goalkeeper Bernd Leno with no chance

Jeffrey Schlupp hit a 25-yard stunner as Crystal Palace salvaged a Premier League point at Fulham.

Adam Wharton's pass found Schlupp outside the box in the closing stages, with the substitute's powerful effort arrowing into the top corner to leave goalkeeper Bernd Leno helpless.

Rodrigo Muniz's thumping header had put Fulham in front shortly after the break.

The Brazilian got on the end of Timothy Castagne's pinpoint cross as he continued his fine form since the end of January.

But Palace, now four matches unbeaten in the league, showed fighting spirit to come back with minutes left to play, after being the better team in the first half.

Michael Olise, starting in place of the injured Eberechi Eze, had a promising chance for Palace early on but shot wide.

It looked like the visitors could end up punished for their profligacy in front of goal when Chris Richards headed an Olise free-kick over the bar, while in-form Jean-Phillipe Mateta volleyed high over the bar from close range.

Fulham's best chances before the break came when Muniz almost caught Dean Henderson out at his near post and Issa Diop headed over from the resulting corner.

Fulham punished late on

Marco Silva's side had a record of eight home wins from eight in the Premier League when scoring the opening goal this season before Schlupp stunned Craven Cottage late on.

The hosts took the lead against the run of play and a draw was a fair result for two sides who are safe in the league for another season.

Andreas Pereira played a ball across the box into the path of Bobby De Cordova-Reid but the forward shot high over the bar as the home side tried to build on Muniz's opener.

Alex Iwobi, who became the fourth Nigerian player to make 250 top-flight appearances, provided a cutback for Harrison Reed who fired over the bar as Fulham missed a chance to double their advantage before Palace's leveller.

Free-scoring Palace continue unbeaten run

Schlupp came on for Jordan Ayew with 14 minutes remaining and scored his second league goal of the season, 175 days after his first, to ensure Palace were rewarded for their performance.

Oliver Glasner's side have been playing great attacking football of late, this their 11th goal in five league games.

Olise and substitute Odsonne Edouard also had low shots saved by Leno as the Eagles continued to apply pressure after the break.

Glasner's side will be in confident mood when they host Manchester United on 6 May (20:00 BST).

    Yep - that was a good game. In my humble opinion, a draw was a fair result. Both teams squandered chances, but two decent goals .

    Love the new Fulham stand. Something we desperately need at Palace.

    Delighted to take 10 points from our last 4 games. Glasner really is a breath of fresh air.

    Fair result and nice game of honest footie without the usual diving & playacting.Credit to both teams.
    When Glasner came to Palace he was asked what are you going to change he said "i am not a magician"
    but what he has done at Palace is MAGICAL

    It is just so nice seeing Palace having shots / corners and going forward looking like they can score, decent point as Fulham are a good side, ten points from our last four games plus nine goals is excellent, lots to look forward to next season.

      As a Blackburn fan that’s great to hear (I follow Palace results and performances now too!). One thing journos and posting fans always miss is that he is a product of Blackburn’s brilliant Academy which deserves an accolade

    I think that was a fair result from two honest teams with two good goals for different reasons. The Palace players clearly struggled today to keep the high press going. A nice 9 day break before Man U. Thanks to Glasner I am really looking forward to that one. Come on you Eagles 🦅

    Not a fan of either team but delighted that you are both going to be in the premier league next season as you’re perfect examples of well run clubs. Palace seem to have found a winner of a manager and I hope for their sake they can keep Eze and Olise (either of which I would love in my team)

    Very entertaining game. Fulham saw off 30 minutes of pressure and then it was pretty even. Think 3 games is a week caught up with us a bit but Schlupp take a bow son. Leno never moved and there was no point tbf. Draw probably a fair result.. COYP

    Thought we were very lucky to get a point tbh. Could have easily been 3 down at half time from the good chances Palace had and could have had no complaints.

    Thought they wanted it much more than us and were better just about everywhere, but yet again I wonder why so late on Marco changed a midfield that was just about coping to one that only just held on for a point in the end.

    Fulham are potentially a better team than their results and league position reflect. It's been a disappointing season in some respects.
