‘I keep saying…’ Tim Sherwood says he still doesn’t know what 24-year-old brings to Arsenal

It wouldn’t be a surprise if Arsenal fans are still in party mode after their win in the north London derby on Sunday.

The scoreline might have read 3-2, but in truth, it was far more comfortable than that for the away team.

If it wasn’t for David Raya having a brain fade, then Arsenal probably would have won by four or five, that’s how easy it was for them in the first 45 minutes.

From Bukayo Saka to Kai Havertz, many players stepped for their team, won the bragging rights again, and kept their Premier League title battle with Manchester City alive.

Many players inside the Arsenal dressing room are proving that they have learnt their lessons from last season.

That is just through experience, having key players fit and also the arrival of certain players in the summer.

One of them is Havertz. The former Chelsea man scored his side’s third against Tottenham and his 12th Premier League goal of the season.

For a player that many were mocking and questioning when he first joined the club, he is sure shutting them up and proving them wrong.

But a certain Tim Sherwood still seems to be confused by the player by claiming ‘I am not sure what he is’, as he told Premier League Productions (29/04/24 at 5:25 pm).

Arteta has deployed the 24-year-old as a number eight and a number nine this season, and he also played left-back for Germany this year.

Even though Havertz is proving his worth with his performances, some still seem to be questioning him as he tries to push his team over the Premier League title line.

Kai Havertz at Arsenal

“I think Havertz has done a good job,” said Sherwood. “I keep saying the same thing, I am not sure what he is. He has adapted and is very versatile. He has scored a few goals and has a lovely touch and movement.

“But I just feel you need that focal point (Arsenal needing a striker).”

Arsenal will win the Premier League title

Make no bones about it. Arsenal have been the best team in the Premier League this season, especially from a defensive aspect.

When you are going for titles, the one thing you need above all else is the best defence and that has been a consistent for the team all season long.

Not forgetting that they have also scored the most goals (85) and that puts them in control when it comes to goal difference.

Man City only need to slip up once and you can see it happening either away at Fulham or Tottenham. It would be pretty incredible if it’s the latter.
