Holland On and On and On
Holland On and On and On

Town fans were cheered today by the news that skipper Matt Holland has been offered a new four year deal. His current contract ends in 2002, but Town want to secure the midfielder's services until 2004. Matt himself is keen to sign for the extra period and the dela seems set to go through smoothly in the new year. Hurrah!

David Johnson is likely to be fit for the Boxing Day game with Fulham. Johnson injured his ankle when he was tripped running into the area in the first half of the Albion game.

Trialist Pascal De Vries has returned to FC Twente as the weather has meant he has been unable to show Town his skills. It is likely that he, and Odd Inge Olsen the Norwegian trialist, will return in the new year when the weather has cleared up. If it ever does.

Crisis club West Brom have vowed to take action against Jason Van Blerk, Alan Miller and Paul Raven the players involved in the after match fighting incident on Saturday. The three began to fight after Albion's disastrous afternoon when they lost 3-1 with two players sent off. Town stewards tried to intervene in the incident and steward Peter Gormer was knocked out. The West Brom contingent apologised and Gormer was happy not to take matters further.

Also in fight action has been Kieron Dyer. It is reported that Kieron and team-mate Kevin Gallacher came to blows at the weekend in an alcohol fuelled incident. However it seems it was all a bit handbags and everyone is friends again. I'm sure we'll hear all about it if Kieron ever restarts his Green Un column.
